The Ask: Helping design the first issue of The New Counter culture Magazine by Melissa Parke
The Challenges: The New Counter Culture is a magazine dedicated to POC musicians and artists. I had to work together with multiple designers to create the magazine's look and feel. We were only were given permission to a few photographs to work on the magazine.
The Big Idea: I first went in with the logo, I wanted the spread of the page to have something fast and recognizable and so The New Counter-Culture red square was born. Aligning the square with the type, it was easy to create space by cutting the main interviewed artist in half, giving it a mysterious feel that will easily captivate the reader.
